Overview of the AMHE Collaborative

The Advancing Mental Health Equity (AMHE, formerly known as Advancing Mental Health Equality) Collaborative is a quality improvement collaborative that aims to support mental health providers to advance mental health equity in their local areas.

Run by the National Collaborating Centre for Mental Health, the first wave of this project launched in July 2021 with participating organisations receiving support to implement the AMHE resource through dedicated support from a Quality Improvement Coach.

The resource comprises a ‘toolkit’, outlining a step-by-step process for commissioners and service providers to:

Identify the mental health inequalities in their local areas
Design services and initiatives in collaboration with local communities to address these inequalities,
Deliver a measurable strategy
Evaluate the impact of the service or initiative in reducing local inequalities in access, experience and outcomes
