Accreditation vs developmental routes
The developmental route was established to support services that have an ambition to improve their clinical quality but are not yet ready to undergo the full accreditation process. Services with a developmental subscription still have access to peer review, self-review, education and training and support from the CCQI team.
We regularly support services where statutory regulators and inspectorates have raised concerns about the service (e.g. the Care Quality Commission, Healthcare Improvement Scotland, Healthcare Inspectorate Wales and the Regulation and Quality Improvement Authority).
Most of our quality networks offer accreditation. We accredit services who can demonstrate a high level of compliance with our quality standards.
To maintain accreditation, the service needs to demonstrate consistently high standards over time by being reviewed at regular periods.
The process looks for evidence that staff members are well trained, well supported and working within organised and safe systems. Services also need to demonstrate that they provide good quality care to patients and that they have the appropriate equipment and facilities to do this.
As part of our accreditation process, we collect feedback from patients and carers who use the service. A service can only be accredited if they are satisfied with the overall quality of the service.
Membership of the networks costs between £2,250 - £3,250 per year depending on your service. Please contact us for a quote on your specific service
